What to do if you know a Foster Kid who needs a GAL/CASA

If the kid is from a Jurisdiction that has a CASA Program this is fairly easy, a simple mention to anyone involved in the case will probably be enough to get it done.

The tough question is what to do if the kid is from a jurisdiction that does not have a CASA Program.  We do not have any clear cut answers but here are some suggestions and we will continue to update this page as more info comes in.

Things to try:

• Talk to the judge or get someone else to talk to the judge.
• Talk to the District Attorney assigned to the case.
• Arrange for an Attorney for the child either private, pro bono or assigned by the court then ask the attorney to file a motion with the court.
• File a motion with the court.
